Activities


Each week we create a piece of artwork which serves as a visual reminder for one of the words used during the session. Children are absorbed in an activity with which they are familiar (colouring, sticking, creating) whilst surrounded by French language and French music. The result is a unique creation to take home, to be displayed and talked about, making the new word come to life outwith the environment of the class.

The illustrations used during the activities will re-appear in other contexts, as prompts for songs or characters in the stories we create; this continuity helps build on familiar images as well as linking the spoken French word to the object. Repetition is the key to acquiring new words, whether it be in one's own language or another!
